Winter is (God willing) coming to an end in the Upper Peninsula and the new season of in-person yarnie events is starting!
I love meeting customers at fiber fests, yarn crawls, and trunk shows so much.
Why?
Because most of my days are spent in a warm, humid studio, wearing grungy clothes, and talking to myself. Recently, this has changed up a bit due the Executive Assistant to the CEO, Princess Sparkle Pup "Sparks", who is very insistent that I throw some sort of toy for her to fetch while I'm trying to dye yarn. Sparks is quick to tell anyone who will listen that this is not an ideal work environment for her. Her royal pedigree believes that my day should be playing with, petting, or cuddling her at all times. To which I respond, dyed yarn equals treats, and then Sparks begrudgingly finds a fluffy spot to take a nap (or give me side eye).
Geez, that went off topic quickly. It is indicative of my work life and you can see why I get so excited about contact with other yarn loving humans. Back to the in-person events...this year I am retiring the lovely display cabinets my dad made me years ago and moving to a grid wall set up. It was a hard decision, but the old cabinets are starting to fall apart and I need room for more YARN!
This year I am hoping to be joined by a VIP at most of my events. So, be sure to come get your picture taken with her. FYI, it's not Sparks.
Here's my list of upcoming in-person events where you can squeeze yarn in person! As more events get added to the schedule, I'll let you know.
